English
Classes

Today was the last day of teaching the children.
And I’m sad to say I’m
rather relieved!
Either my classroom management
skills are poor, or these kids are more rambunctious than most, or both. But
the classroom has been getting crazier every day. I tried all of the consequences
I know, but I still couldn’t get 7 middle school boys to stop talking and
listen for one minute.
But I still love
and lift up each of those kids.
Tomorrow
we will be watching an English movie, and we will invite the parents to a small
ceremony the following day.
Please ask
that we have left some impact on the children despite disciplining them and not being
able to sharing with them because of strict laws about sharing with children.
Please also ask the Father that we are able
to connect with their parents on the day of the ceremony.
Good News
Conversations

No doubt in response to your pr from last week, we were able
to hang out with several friends despite them being occupied with Ramadan.
We met with a national woman,
Natalie,
a few nights ago who has lived in Norway for many years.
Having lived abroad, she is disillusioned
with the outward display or religion that doesn’t affect the heart.
She understands the foundations of the Good
News so well too!
She understands that
we are all sinners and that our good does not forgive our bad. She understands
that following certain rituals and religious acts doesn’t make us good.
And she has heard the story of the Son, but I
don’t think that she understands the exclusivity and the urgency of the
message.
We went to an ice cream shop with
her and then walked around at a park until 1:30 am and then we went over to her
house to chat for a bit!
We shared the
Good News with her, and
Natalie shared with us about the struggles of
her people.
It was inspiring to hear stories
of how her family lived in a cave for two years when a dictator ruled their
country and slaughtered many of her people.
We are thankful to get to have such meaningful conversations with our
local friends.
Praises
We got to meet up with Natalie, and she understands
the foundations of the Good News
Kids’ classes are over
Lucy came to pizza night
We had a good week of fellowship and hosting local guests
with two girls who are summer volunteers. They stayed with us while most of the
long-term team was away on vacation.
Requests
Please ask that Natalie decides to trust the Son as
her savior
Please ask that we had an impact on the kids, and that we
get to connect with their parents
By making moral choices to honor the Father and protect our
reputation, we may have offended Lucy and her husband. Please ask that the Father would give us
favor with them once again.
Please ask that our remaining days are filled with Good News
conversations!
